Pansies - a Flower With a Smile

During cool spring, and fall seasons, and mild winters, when few other flowers are putting on a show, pansies can add brilliant color to gardens and porch containers.

These wonderful happy flowers come in a rainbow of colors and growing habits. Pansies can grow short and compact or cascade in waves over the sides of window boxes or make a real show in a hanging basket. Colors range from saturated solids of white, yellow, and blue to two-tones, tri-colors, and purples so deep they seem black. Whatever your preference, there's a pansy to suit it

Pansies flourish during the cool nights and warm days of spring and fall. Those of us who garden in the south with relatively warm winters can enjoy color from fall-planted pansies all winter long — even frosts and freezes don't bother the flowers.
